Common Fields in Content Items
When creating a new content item, some fields are specific to the content type, while others are common across all content types.
Below is a description of the common fields you may encounter when creating a content item:
• Name – The title of the content item, displayed on the website and used to identify the page or post. This will also be used as the default Meta title for SEO purposes.
• Slug – A URL-friendly identifier for the content. This is a lowercase, hyphen-separated version of the title, used to create a clean and readable web address.
• Short Description – A brief summary of the content that may appear in listings, previews, or metadata. This will also serve as the default Meta description for SEO purposes.
• Visibility – Determines who can view the content. Options may include public, private, or restricted access (e.g., accessible only via a private link).
• Publish Date – The date and time when the content is scheduled for publication or was originally made available.
• Image – A featured image associated with the content, often used in listings, previews, and social media sharing.
• Authors – The individuals or entities credited with creating the content. This may include primary and contributing authors.
• Related Items – Content pieces that are thematically connected, allowing for cross-linking to improve navigation and engagement.
• Channels – Distribution pathways where the content will be published, such as specific platform sections for grouping related content or organizing it into a dedicated area.
• Tags – Keywords or phrases assigned to the content to enhance discoverability and categorization, aiding in search and filtering.
• Specify Item Position – Defines the order or priority of the content within a list, menu, or section, ensuring proper placement based on importance or relevance.
• SEO Title – A search-engine-optimized title that appears in search results and browser tabs. It can be different from the main title to improve ranking and click-through rates. If left empty, the “Name” field will be used.
• SEO Description – A meta description used by search engines to summarize the page’s content. It influences how the page appears in search results and its likelihood of being clicked. If left empty, the “Short Description” field will be used.
