Privacy

GrowPoint was updated to meet GDPR requirements and to deliver the best and most transparent experience to your users. However, this does not make your site automatically compliant. To make your site compliant you need to make sure that you follow the best practices of informing your users about processing of their data, gather required consents and ensure that their data is processed accordingly. As data administrator, you are responsible for lawful processing of personal data.

With GrowPoint you can:
  • define Global consents presented to users on the registration form and/or presented after login to the existing users
  • define Course consents presented to users on the specific course enrollment forms
  • pseudonymise user’s email addresses and limit access to them only to Superadmins
  • add pages with Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
In the users profile, users can:
  • access and print out all their personal data collected during registration and course enrollments
  • edit all their personal data
  • view all the consents given as users
  • cancel their consents
  • remove their account with all their personal data entered in registration forms and course enrollment forms

Privacy settings

Show required consents as statements on registration form Check if you want change required consents appearance to statements instead of checkboxes
Display privacy policy checkbox on contact form Check if you want to display privacy policy consent on ‘contact us’ form.
Hide email addresses from Course Administrators When enabled only Superadministrator and Course Coordinators will have access to user email addresses
Hide email addresses from Course Coordinators When enabled only Superadministrator and Course Administrators will have access to user email addresses
Disable „Print out your data” in user profile When turned on users will not have an option to print out their data on their profile page
Disable „Manage privacy settings” in user profile When turned on users will not have an option to manage their consents on their profile page
Disable „Delete your account” in user profile When turned on users will not have an option to delete their account

Cookies

Providing your service to the European Union visitors you’re obliged to comply with the general Cookie regulations. GrowPoint uses some cookies that are necessary (like email confirmation reminder, helper balloons display etc.) and optional (preferences of sorting order). These cookies do not store any personal information about the user. GrowPoint also uses third-party services like Youtube and Vimeo video players. On top of that you can add external analytics or marketing trackers in the Custom Code section. Those services usually store their own cookies and if you provide service for European visitors you should add information about that in your cookie policy.

Available Cookie settings

Enable cookie privacy management Check if you want to display cookie consent box. Without visitor’s consent only the necessary cookies will be loaded.
Cookie policy page type
  • Internal – allows to choose one of the available Info Pages on the platform
  • External – allows to provide any external URL
Consent modal layout Decide how the „Cookie bar” should look like based on predefined options
Consent modal position Decide where on screen the „Cookie bar” should be displayed based on predefined options
Show „Reject all” button on Consent Modal Decide if the „Cookie bar” should contain a „Reject all” option or not
Show „Accept all” and „Reject all” buttons with equal weight When turned off the „Reject all” button will be displayed as less prominent than the „Accept all” button
Show „Analytics” section Decide if the Cookie Settings popup should contain „Analytics” section.
Show „Marketing” section Decide if the Cookie Settings popup should contain „Marketing” section.
Show „More information” section Decide if the Cookie Settings popup should contain „More information” section.

Your cookie policy should contain information:

  • what cookies are
  • how you use cookies on your site
  • how to manage and delete cookies (you may refer visitors to external resources like cookiepedia, chrome or firefox)
  • listing of necessary and optional cookies used on your site with short description
  • links to third-party cookie policy pages

GrowPoint provides a list of all first-party cookies in case you want to add detailed information about cookies in your cookie policy. The list is available on the Superadmin → Settings → Privacy page.

User Consents

Manage all global and course consents. All consents are stored on the user profile. The system keeps track of which consent the user agreed to, along with a history of changes in the consent content.

Global Consents

Global consents are displayed on the registration form.

Available fields:

Name Administrative label of the consent
Content Text displayed to the users
Present on registration Decide if the consent should be shown on the registration page
Ask existing Users on login Decide if the consent popup should be shown to all users that didn’t see this consent before the next time they visit the platform. Caution: If a consent is marked as „required” and is displayed to existing users, your users will not be able to use the platform before accepting the consent.
Require Decide if it should be required to agree to this consent in order to proceed.

Course Consents

Course consents are displayed during a course enrollment process. To use a predefined course consent in a given course administration must choose it on the Course Administration → Settings → User Fields page.
